Sandbox Trio is an improvisational group utilizing industrial and ethnic music. It's comprised of Martin Birke, Chuck Ehlis and Daniel Panasenko who play a variety of instruments including electronic percussion and original instruments designed by Chuck. Conceived as a studio project in Winter 1992, Sandbox Trio released its debut ORCUS DRAWL in spring 1993. Distributed by Ladd-Frith, ORCUS DRAWL received airplay both in the US and Europe. In 1994, with its second independent release IDIOPHONE, Sandbox Trio is focusing on live performance and recording. In 1995 with its release KURUMBA this threesome continued utilizing and developing their peculiar brand of ambient-techno-industrial.

Reviews:

... eine Menge konventioneller Instrumente sowie seltsame elektronische Klänge erzeugen eigenartige Perkussion- und Loop-Effekte. Das ist cool eigenwillig im Bereich Ambient Noise und in jedem Fall wert reinzuhören. (review in Terra X Magazine)
