Sandbox Trio     »Nocturnalis«
Release: 1999 · 12 Tracks · TOTAL: 60:11 minutes

A felicitous mix of the typical sound of Sandbox Trio (Urubamba, Kurumba, Idiophone/Orcus Drawl) and the improvisations of the even-tempered clarinet of Beth Custer (Trance Mission, Eighty Mile Beach). Panasenko: "Music created for the night, this hour-long collection is dark, meditative, and thought-provoking and features the group's unusual mix of percussion and homemade instruments." Excellent improvisations, mostly calm and permanently alternating between ambient, tribal, industrial and jazz.

Daniel Panasenko     »the composer«
Release: 2005 · 15 Tracks · TOTAL: 55:56 minutes

An adventurous album between free-jazz improvisations and tracks close to classical music. Most tracks are calm and have a pensive mood. Panasenko here also realized an interessting idea at several tracks, where he made "random" compositions using dice to determine notes, octaves, and duration. An unusual album in a wide area of improvisations and compositions. At this album Panasenko collaborated with: Martin Birke, Chuck Ehlis, Christian Heilman, Tony Passarell and Mark Wyman. More details can be found at the website of CD BABY.

Daniel Panasenko     »fables of fahtcha«
Release: 2004 · 10 Tracks · TOTAL: 60:13 minutes

An album in the area of swinging jazz and free-jazz improvisations. Some tracks pay homage to such avant-garde jazz legends as Ornette Coleman, John Coltrane and Thelonius Monk. Panasenko: "Fables of Fahtcha explores the balance between composition and improvisation."
